depressing news of the week: i got a speeding ticket.
i know you are thinking "what? not you! you never speed!"... i know, friends, i know. however, once in a great while, my little heavy foot gets away from me and this dang motorcycle cop just happened to see me in my moment of weakness.
to make matters worse, my fine is $204. 204. i don't get how that is legal! either way, grant is saying i should go to court and hopefully the cop doesn't show up and i am off the hook. my fear is... what if he does show up? then what?
oh well. we live, we learn, we pay for our heavy feet and when i lay my head on my pillow at night... i can still fall asleep knowing it was a good day because it could have been a lot worse.

For the next two weeks call the police station every day and ask to speak with (officer who gave you ticket whose name is on the citation). If they transfer you, hang up. One day, they will tell you that he isn't in. Make not of what day of the week it is. If it is the same day two weeks in a row, you have found his day off. Then, call and schedule your court date on his day off. He will not show. You will not pay.
Not speaking from experience...or am I?
